What is CBIU?

The Dominica Citizenship by Investment Programme was introduced in 1993 by the Government of the Commonwealth of Dominica and is now one of the world’s longest-running economic citizenship schemes. The Citizenship by Investment Unit (CBIU) is the government authority that administers the programme, dealing with everything from the application process to finding new investment opportunities. 

Who heads the CBIU?

The CBIU has been headed by H.E. Ambassador Emmanuel Nanthan since February 2015. H.E. Nanthan is also the Ambassador-at-Large for the Prime Minister, the Honourable Roosevelt Skerrit, and has extensive experience in diplomacy and international affairs. He has previously held positions including the Ambassador to Libya and the Special Advisor to two of Dominica’s former Heads of Government. H.E. Nanthan is a huge proponent of the Dominica Citizenship by Investment Programme and its value as a tool for helping the country reach its potential.
